I’m still working my way through the wealth of materials and resources at the Wealthy Affiliate website. It’s going to take some time. Having said that though, I’d like to emphasize a point that I made in a prior blog post that is very important. I realized that I don’t have to wait until I’ve worked all the way through the material to get started marketing online. The same goes for you. The eight weeks of the Action Plan can seem daunting for someone who wants to make money NOW, so you’ve got to realize that you can do both of these tasks at the same time. Which two tasks am I talking about? They are: Learning and Marketing.

Getting back to my point, I’ve been working my way through the tasks presented in the 8 week action plan. One of those tasks is to read through the posts in the $500 Challenge Forum.

On the Wealthy Affiliate website, the creators, Kyle and Carson, have set up a forum and a contest. This contest is for people who are already members of Wealthy Affiliate. The contest is to create the most helpful forum post. This would be a post that effectively communicates some excellent information regarding how to achieve success with affiliate marketing. For this contest, the $500 Challenge Forum was set up. This is the forum into which members submit their posts for consideration. After a designated period of time, one post gets chosen as the winner and the writer of that post is awarded $500.

So, as directed by the 8 Week Action plan, I was reading through some of the posts in the $500 Challenge forum. I read through several posts, and many of them were excellent. One post, however, sticks out in my mind. This is a post submitted by a member that contains 5 or 6 videos demonstrating how to create web pages for your marketing campaigns in under 10 minutes.

So why is this valuable? Two reasons immediately come to mind. 1. Doing any kind of internet or affiliate marketing requires you to be able to create web sites and pages. Often, this is a stumbling point for many people where their progress stops. 2. Being able to observe how someone does this in a video helps you to learn extremely fast, much faster than trying to read through a tutorial.

After reading through this post and watching the videos (which took me about an hour), I sat back and said to myself, “Wow, that’s worth the cost of the membership right there.”

You see, as I said before, in order to succeed in affiliate marketing you have to be able to create web pages. This is something that you have to be able to do quickly and repeatedly. Tonight before going to bed, I checked my email as I routinely do. I certainly wasn’t expecting to find what I found. Lo and behold, there was a message congratulating me on my first Wealthy Affiliate sale! And that’s after only blogging about my experiences for 9 days! Yeah, you heard me right. On my 9th day into this project, I’ve made my first commission from Wealthy Affiliate! I wasn’t even expecting anything, because I wasn’t sure if this was going to work or not. Well, whadaya know! It works!

OK, so I’m only $14 richer at this point, but I did a little calculation. What if I could duplicate this one sale once each day? Given the fact that most people remain Wealthy Affiliate members, for quite some time, this will be residual income that will keep coming in month after month! Admittedly, we’re not talking about huge sums of money here, but could YOU use an extra FIVE TEN or FIFTEEN GRAND this year?

I’m definitely going to be working towards duplicating this. So how does one make money using Wealthy Affiliate? Well, it appears right off the bat that there are two main ways of going about this. But before we go there, let’s first point out that this whole Internet Marketing approach to making money is all about earning money through referrals. There are skads of affiliate/referral programs out there on the web. If someone makes a purchase on a website after having clicked through one of your links to get there, then you will earn a commission on that sale. It’s a simple enough concept, right?

OK, well getting back to the two main ways of making money through Wealthy Affiliate. The first way is by marketing the Wealthy Affiliate membership itself. The creators of Wealthy Affiliate are certainly interested in seeing you take up this method because why? Because if you sell the Wealthy Affiliate website, then they make more money as well! So not only do they interested in you doing that, but they have set up incentives to motivate you to do so as well! I don’t know all of the ins and outs of the incentive program, but I do know that part of it involves a paid trip to Las Vegas. Sounds cool. I’ve never been to Vegas.

OK, so the second way you can go about making money using Wealthy Affiliate is by working your way through their 8 Week Action Plan that will teach you how to become an affiliate marketer. It would appear that this is a way of “trekking out on your own”.

So there you have it, those are the two primary ways offered that you can use to earn extra cash from home. It would appear that one of the easier ways to start would be to simply promote the Wealthy Affiliate site itself. How do you do that you might wonder? Well, when you join Wealthy Affiliate, you are provided with a special link that has your own personal individual ID in it. You can use this special link in various places around the web, and if someone uses your link to go to the Wealthy Affiliate website and joins, then you get a commission! How cool is that?! I’ll have to go check again to make sure, but I think the commission that you earn on a Wealthy Affiliate membership is 50%. Sounds fair to me.
